Intense, sensual, larger-than-life, DB Bistro brings the traditional European bistro into the 21st century. |

DB is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional European bistro. The restaurant is comprised of two dining rooms linked by a paneled wine bar, which also connects the restaurant to the adjacent hotel lobby.
The more casual front room features deep red-rubbed plaster walls, two-toned stone tile floor, and a Wenge wood-paneled ceiling. The room's focal point lies on the west wall, where the eye is drawn to a series of sensual, larger than life, floral photographs by Christopher Beane. They are reflected on the opposite wall by a series of oversized mirrors, framed in blackened steel. The modern chairs and tables are inspired by traditional African-carved wood forms. Fabrics in this room include shiny taupe "liquid leather" on the chairs, and a sculpted wool pattern in tan and beige on the banquette backs. These intense forms and colors are intended to recall European modernism of the 1910's and 20's.
The wine bar is defined by a series of cream, lacquered arches. One wall holds a wine display, aglow from behind its amber-colored glass backing. Two oversize "giallo" marble communal tables sit in the center of the room, each under a custom Stephen McKay chandelier.
The more intimate back dining room has a subdued and gentle pallet. Banquettes upholstered with mustard and tan striped velour line two sides. Behind them a wall of cool celadon green painted glass is intersected by a row of mirrors, framed with Wenge wood and blackened steel. The sculpted ceiling's oversized, L-shaped fabric-wrapped panels are set at varying heights. A semi-private dining niche, off to one side, is enveloped in gold velvet wall panels and is hung with another Stephen McKay chandelier.
